Often providing services that would likely not be available otherwise, the works of local non-profits have a profound impact on the lives of almost everyone here. Millions of dollars of services, manpower and products are poured into the Central Coast by local non-profits every year.
The Community Impact Award for Outstanding Non-Profit of the Year will go to the organization that best demonstrates qualities such as these:
Exceptional impact by advancing the quality of life for a sector of the population of the Central Coast
Significant local presence: based in or local chapter in the Central Coast
Has an excellent reputation
Exhibits excellence in its use of resources
Longevity: has served in the Central Coast for a minimum of three years

Outstanding Volunteer of the Year
The value of volunteer manpower invested for the public good on the Central Coast cannot be adequately measured. It goes beyond dollars and cents, because they don’t just give their time-- they exhibit commitment, passion and sacrifice for the causes they serve.
This Award recipient exhibits an exceptional commitment to the people of the Central Coast and to advancing the quality of life here by volunteering at the grass-roots level for a local non profit entity (or entities), while demonstrating these qualities, among others:

Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year
Philanthropy is defined as “voluntary action for the public good.” In the Central Coast, philanthropy is flourishing. In fact, while institutional services go through cutbacks, local philanthropists continue to emerge to provide resources for local non-profits to do their work.

You do not have to look long to notice that Central Coast businesses give generously to this community. In fact, their impact is very significant when it comes to advancing the quality of life in the Central Coast. Whether it’s the large corporations or small businesses, they provide valuable resources in the form of grants, sponsorships, labor, products and services. The Central Coast is unique in that businesses realize that they are expected to have a level of commitment to the people here and to the County as a whole.
